We will learn about sustainability in the widest sense; looking at easy and achievable ways we can sustain our environment, our relationships and of course ourselves.
Previous courses have been run by Indigo Brave, these same tutors now run the courses as part of Hockerton Housing Project. The film below shows people from the previous courses.
This course will meet weekly on a Friday in a safe and relaxed atmosphere, to learn about sustainability of self, community and planet and the principles of permaculture, through practical activities, sharing circles and discussion.
The course offers a variety of outdoor activities depending on the season and needs of the group and the environment to include horticulture and growing vegetables, plant/tree identification, coppicing and woodland management, safe handling of tools, composting, cookery and foraging, animal care and camp skills.
Attendees will develop transferable skills such as improved communication, the ability to understand and work sensitively with those different from you, teamwork, self-confidence and reflection.
The course is free for all attendees. We can assist with arranging transport for anyone who may find this difficult.
