Seasonal Abundance
Sharing skills that inspire and equip you to live more in tune with the seasons and to gather from the abundance of each season. The series includes Summer and Autumn harvests, preserves and feasts, cosy Winter crafting and Spring foraging and gardening. More detail, dates and prices here.
Master Class : The practicalities of
delivering zero carbon homes
Our Master Class is a one day fully catered training day to really help you get into the nitty gritty of how to build zero at no extra cost with simple design techniques. Dates and prices, –More details on content.
The Water Course:
Based on our experience here at Hockerton Housing Project where we are completely autonomous in water, this course will demonstrate how we can work with available water in the landscape to serve all our community needs and then process it and return it clean back into the water cycle without burdening the rivers or river authorities. Embedded in the ethics and principles of permaculture, this course is relevant whether you want to capture and use rain water or grey water in your garden, or join in a coordinated effort across the whole landscape to help mitigate flooding. Building Community, from the ground up:
Based on our experience here at Hockerton Housing Project, this course includes a tour of our climate-resilient homes, renewables and autonomous water system, and our land management and food growing practices. You will also learn about the skills and practices of community living, co-operative business and collective land management. Embedded in the ethics and principles of permaculture, this course will be valuable if you are working or living co-operatively with others, or if you are considering starting or joining a community. Gardening for Wellbeing Group
This weekly group develops attendees’ wellbeing and their life skills through practical learning about sustainability, and the application of permaculture principles in a community setting. More details
Craft workshops
Our craft events have a sustainable or seasonal element and use materials sourced from our land- whether it’s kids crafts, peg-loom weaving, wreath-making, besom-making or candle-dipping. Please enquire for more information or to arrange a bespoke workshop.
