Chapter 5: Ventilation and Air Tightness



The core of Hockerton Housing Project homes (which excludes conservatory & the hallway) are designed to be super air-tight to minimise heat loss during cold periods. However without adequate ventilation the indoor air quality would rapidly deteriorate with increasing moisture levels & air pollutants.

This factsheet sets out how the air in the homes is managed to avoid overheating and unwanted cooling, and incorporates the results of air pressure tests.
