Eco Match-Making Service

A few years ago we ran a formal match-making service, putting people in contact with each other that were interested in sustainable communities. This was in response to frequent enquiries from people who were struggling to find others with similar interests to develop their plans/dreams. This included collecting a lot of details about their circumstances and what they were ideally looking for. However this proved very complicated to run, time-consuming and hence costly.

We now offer a more informal & free service. This involves adding people (looking for others to be part of a sustainable community/project) to an email database. After that you will be sent emails on an ad hoc basis with:

• Details of others looking for similar to set up/join a sustainable community
• Details of proposed sustainable community schemes

So what do you need to do now?

Email hhp@hockerton.demon.co.uk with a short profile of you/your group - a few details of what you are interested/ looking for in terms of being part of a sustainable community/ scheme. Similarly if you are looking for others to join your scheme, provide a short profile of your proposal.

These details will then be passed on to the others on the database. It is up to you and others on the database to make contact directly with each other.
