Ecoscopes (Personal visit)

This is essentially a private visit for individuals, couples or small groups to HHP rather than a large group tour or ‘open’ event, so that we can concentrate on those aspects that are of most interest to you. This could be for a number of reasons:

  • Interested in specific aspects of HHP that you require more detailed information and discussions/advice
  • As an initial step before taking on HHP for longer term consultancy work
  • Cannot make one of the advertised ‘open’ events and there are not enough of you for a dedicated group tour (e.g. on holiday in area or visiting from abroad)
  • Student requiring specific & detailed information for a dissertation or project work.

We have far more flexibility with dates for such a visit and can usually set up a visit within a week or two depending on your requirements and availability of the most appropriate HHP member.

You decide what you would like included in your visit - It can include any of the following (and more!):

  • Tour of one of the earth-sheltered homes including energy saving features
  • External tour of site focusing on autonomous water systems
  • External tour of site focusing on renewable energy systems
  • HHP initial assessment of your plans/ ideas with suggestions for follow up
  • Technical discussion of construction specification and implementation (this may require extra time or a separate meeting).

Typically an Ecoscope lasts between 2 and 4 hours.

To book an Ecoscope, please email hhp@hockerton.demon.co.uk or call 01636 816902 letting us know what you would like from the visit and with some idea of when you would ideally like to come. For costs click here.

It is possible that you may consider this meeting an initial assessment that could lead to you considering whether HHP gets more involved with your plans/ project. For more details of design advice, click here.

If you represent a community project it maybe possible for you to receive up to 1.5 days of free technical advice – click here for more information.
