We recognise that many schools have limited spare funds to support external visits, particularly those from deprived areas. Schools may be able to cover some costs by requesting parental contributions.
We therefore only ask schools to cover transport costs and make a small contribution. HHP then draws down from an ‘educational pot’ the remaining funds required to manage and run the school visits.
This educational pot is filled from a number of sources:
The size of this pot is not great and is often empty. The greater the donation a school can make, the further we can spread the funds for as many school children as possible. HHP itself already subsidises this work, so that it can receive more schools.
