Key Stages

The key stages in a projects development are:

(1) Design Concept – For our involvement we may need to visit the proposed site to ensure we have the best understanding of your project and clearly understand your design requirements. We can provide at this stage preliminary drawings to explore ideas – These do not need to be too detailed. If you already have drawings of your own or via a designer (e.g. architect) we would be happy to review them to see if we can improve them to provide a more energy-efficient/ sustainable design.

(2) Planning - It would be worth you finding out what planning policies/issues you could use to support your application and which ones might be used against that you can offset as much as possible. These policies will be a mix of national planning policy guidance (PPS's) with local interpretation, and any specific local policies/supplementary policy guidance's (SPG's). The design concept should demonstrate your sustainability objectives and how the development would address key policy issues (e.g. minimising visual impact). You will also need drawings to illustrate elevations, floor plans, cross sections, location & site plans. HHP can assist at this stage.

(3) Building Regulations - Once planning permission is gained you will need to consider the next level of technical detail to meet the latest set of Building Regulations. We can again contribute at this stage as much as you wish.

(4) Build – We are unlikely to be able to get involved at this stage, but it maybe that we can provide guidance, training or technical advice for your chosen contractors.
