Other/Specialist Tours

We have run a range of other tours for specialist groups, where our standard or technical tours may not quite fit their requirements. For instance:

• A university landscape architect course that wanted to focus on land management issues and the wider built environment – they did not go inside a home.
• Farmers group – similar to above, but particular interest in implications for land use.
• A further education college that wanted to incorporate a participatory activity for students.
• University course where students were required to use HHP as a case study for a post-visit design assignment.
• A number of groups that wished to include a facilitated brainstorm/discussion.
• An event facilitated by HHP for local GP trainees, ‘Holistic Health Training workshop’, which explored a range of complementary health treatments including; Tai Chi, Acupuncture and Psychotherapy/ Counselling. Participants were encouraged to review their definition of “Health” by challenging their concepts of health and medicine and to think about how it might be transferred to their own practice. There was of course the obligatory tour of the eco-homes and other environmental aspects of the Hockerton Housing Project. The day was finished with a hot meal and wine-tasting. (We would be happy to discuss running this for other GP groups).

You can also customize your own visit to include either a standard or technical tour with other activities & lunch or as a package along when hiring HHP as a venue for a meeting.
